Pictures of my recently acquired 1965 356 C Coupe which will make my life in retirement a lot more fun! A 40 year dream first inspired by Paul Newman in his Harper movies has finally been realized. The 1600 cc engine has been reconfigured to match 356 SC specifications.

1963 356 Super 90
My car is a 1963 Super 90 Karmann coupe, # 212765. It is an original and un-restored car in exceptional condition. Prior owners and a Kardex confirm that it has its original engine (# 806620), transmission (# 61211), paint (black), interior (red) and options (headrests, chrome wheels). The wheels are date-stamped, and the front and rear lids are also original to the car. The car was called best original 356 at the Nord Stern regional meet in the summer of 1989. It is a wonderful driver and has Weber carbs, K&N filters, PermaTune electronic ignition, competition seatbelts and extra VDO guages for oil pressure and temperature. I keep the car in Connecticut, where it is pictured upon its first emergence from a winter's hibernation.

63S S/R Coupe Ex-Smothers Bros
Originally purchased by Dick Smothers in 1963 & sold by him in 2000. A Documented 2 owner car with 64k. orig. miles. Nicely optioned with Speedster side spears, factory foglamp covers, date stamped 63 Nardi,and Rare S/R. Original interior with exception to carpets & rear bulkhead vinyl, 1 re-paint in original color in early 70's (light ivory)with all inner panels ,under lids original paint..a wonderfully preserved example .
